Caroline Rufo creates paintings, installations and performances.
A lifelong New England artist, she explores the natural beauty, ideas, and systems that create her surroundings and influence her perception.

As I meditate, I observe a stream of worries, to-do lists, and memories passing through my mind. This awareness highlights a separate self beyond the constant chatter in my head.

As I deepen this practice, I become aware of filters shaped by cultural systems which in turn shape my responses in the world.

My creative practice involves discovering this hidden information, finding relationships between ideas, exploring visual metaphor and pursuing excellence and beauty.
